Research Note

Research notes offer a venue for concise, focused contributions to trust and safety scholarship. This format is ideal for time-sensitive findings, pilot studies, preliminary analyses, or research-in-progress that merits timely dissemination to the field.

While research notes may draw on smaller datasets or more limited scope than full research articles, they should still demonstrate methodological soundness and offer meaningful contributions to trust and safety understanding. Authors are encouraged to discuss how their preliminary or contained findings might inform future research directions, policy considerations, or practical industry interventions.

Although there are no word limits, research notes could be  approximately 2,000 words, excluding references and supplementary materials.

The next deadline for research note submissions is April 30, 2026. Papers submitted by this deadline will be considered for publication in the Conference Proceedings Issue for 2026 Trust and Safety Research Conference. Accepted manuscripts will be guaranteed a speaking spot at the conference.

Authors may submit letters of inquiry to assess whether their manuscript aligns with the journal's scope and standards. Visit the Letter of Inquiry Page for detailed instructions.
